JW's & alternative medicine
by slipnslidemaster inin one of the threads i read today, they were talking about looking into your eyeballs to diagnose cancer and the like.
also selling herbs.. my comment and question is this: it seemed like in my congregation and the surrounding ones, alot of the sisters were into kineseology, reflexology, herbs, vitamins, color therapy, aroma therapy, etc.. alot of touchy feely hippie crap.
while i personally agree that there needs to be more synergy with eastern and western medicines, it would appear reading the boards that alot of witnesses are into this sort of stuff.. is this your experience?

Where do you go to die?
by wasasister infor the majority of humans, certain events are surrounded by tradition and ritual.
marriage, the birth of children, entrance into adulthood, and death are all life-events which will be marked by most with a form of religious ceremony.
for the few who have left off affiliation with a religious organization, these events are marked differently - more by tradition than by mystic ritual.

***You missed the point: Millions of JWs put their faith in God through the Watchtower, believing the garbage that is spewed forth.***
No, you obviously missed the point. The Watchtower has helped millions to put faith in Jehovah. Obviously they were not successful in your case, and in the case of others who refuse to know Jehovah. Many, like yourself were mere followers of men, "Watchtowerites" I call them. And then, when it comes to your attention that the men you are following are not perfect as you had imagined, than you are stumbled. Your faith was entirely dependent upon the Watchtower. And indeed, no doubt, there are many like you whose faith will yet vaporize during the heat of Jehovah's judgment. But, that will be God's means of parting the wheat from the chaff. Some have merely been winnowed out prematurely, before the real threshing commences.
***Hmmm... how am I supposed to "know" God and have a relationship with Him if I “can’t understand” Him?***
You can understand him. You just can't understand how his judgments are going to be unveiled. That's why the Scriptures emphasis the importance of waiting on God. Remaining in faithful expectation is what Jesus expects of those who are his followers. At the time of the revelation of those judgments, then those who have been faithful will understand what God has concealed from them prior to that time.
***I don’t need a Society to dictate my relationship with God.***
That is basically what the arrogant Jews said about Christ and his apostles, and of course their arrogance lead them down a dead-end path. / You Know

Running man, people have been using some of these therapies for thousands of years. Not only that, natural medicine is by far the most widely used healing system in the world. When you consider that China has about one-in-six people on the planet, and that that have succesfully used many of these methods for centuries, it gives you some idea of how brainwashed the average American is. Only Westerners are so ignorant and arrogant so as to discount practices that have stood the test of time to that extent. On the other hand Western druggery is largely an unproven experiment. As an example, because of the indescriminate use of antibiotics, in humans and as a matter of routine in feed cattle, many mircrobes have become immune to them. Some feel that it is only a matter of time before the world gets swept with killer pandemic like what occurred back in 1919 with the Spanish influenza that wiped out 20 million people in a few months. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind kind of a thing I suppose. / You Know

[QUOTE] Name the religions God approves today?[QUOTE]
It is not possible to definitively answer that question for the simple reason that Jehovah has not expressed his judgment. When his judgments are unveiled before the world during the oncoming tribulation period, then, the sons of God will be revealed. That means that Jehovah will unmistakably demonstrate who his anointed ones are. So until that revelation each can have their opinion, but when once the son of man arrives, he will force the world to recognize who the true ones are.
[QUOTE]Name the religions from 1000 to 1870 that God approved? I've always wanted to know that, and wait patiently for your answer.[QUOTE]
It really doesn't matter. Jehovah's covenanted people were pretty much absorbed into Christendom shortly after the apostles died off. Although there were a few scattered individuals that were anointed down through history, they for the most part were all alone. Only during the presence of Christ, before his unveiling during the tribulation, would these scattered individuals be gathered back into anything that could pass as a religious organization. At the unveiling Jesus will indicate who his brothers are, and that of course will not be good news for apostates. / You Know

Probably because we are not really tied to this system of things, we are generally more open to ideas that are considered taboo by the establishment. Also, no doubt because of being aware of the tyrannical nature of the medical system because of our dealings with the medical establishment on the blood issue, some are inclined to look elsewhere in other matters of health as well. / You Know

I can answer any question you got. In fact, I got answers to questions you have never even thought of. LOL Just because I choose not to answer a baited or moronic question doesn't mean I don't know the answer. Jesus often refused to answer foolish questions. But, certainly his words apply especially to apostates when he said: "By hearing you will hear but by no means get the sense of it." Because in your presumption you imagine that you know the Bible, you pretty much validat Jesus' words. You are truly laughable. / You Know

It is not uncommon for apostates to kill themselves. Most notably, Saul and Judas come to mind. That's not to say that your friend was necessarily an apostate. But, guilt can be an enormous burden for some to bear. It's a shame that some are so faithless. / You Know

[QUOTE] those "assumptions" are what I gleaned from the Watchtower and other WT literature. I based my life decisions on
those publications for 20 years. [QUOTE]That's my point. And because the Watchtower has not revealed the half of Jehovah's judgments, you are therefore ignorant of how God purposes to deal with the issues pertaining to his organization. That's the beauty of the Bible, that people can read it from cover to cover, many times over, and still not get the sense of it. Even the apostles had certain things concealed from them until such time as the Lord chose to enlighten them. So, too, today, to have discernment into these things, it requires Jehovah to lift the veil, which of course he will do when his time arrives. That's why Jehovah guaranteees that the apostates within Zion will shiver when he reveals his judgments. / You Know

Unquestionably, apostates are the stupidest people on the planet. Here's why: Because you largely are Biblically illiterate and can only make assumptions based upon what the Watchtower has taught you up to this point, apostates are therefore completely ignorant of the fact that Jehovah's as-of-yet unvieled judicial decisions are scheduled to come against those of his own people first! The truth of the matter is, of course, that Jehovah judges the whole world as well as his own people. That is why the apostle asked the somewhat disturbing question: 'If now the godly man is being saved with difficulty, where will the sinner make a showing.' What's the answer? / You Know
